PROJECT V: Seedling Series
Focus
The Seedling Series is an ongoing series by Ashante Dujour that chronicles physically and emotionally climactic moments in her life.
Goal
To help cope with situations she struggled to explain, Ashante created a bud character named Seedling that sees the world through a more endearing and grounded perspective than its creator.
Method
Through intense photo and video documentation and illustrations that follow a strict color palette, Ashante visually processes moments of love, camaraderie, loss, and solace as a plant.
Seedling bends backwards: "Sometimes, we make going forward as hard as bending backwards." Seedling stands tall: "Sometimes, the solution is just standing tall."
